How can we help?
Issuer sponsored shares CHESS (SRN) transfer process
How do I transfer my issuer-sponsored shares to Stake (SRN)?
Issuer-sponsored shares are held against a Securityholder Reference Number (SRN) on a share registry such as Computershare, Link Market Services, Automic or Boardroom. You can easily transfer them to your Stake HIN in a few simple steps.
What you’ll need
- A copy of your issuer holding statement from the relevant share registry
- A certified copy of your ID (learn more)
- A filled-out share transfer request form, which you can find here
Please note, your FinClear Account Number is the same as your Stake AUS account number, which can be found by heading to Profile > Account number on the Stake platform.
Simply attach the above details in an email to share-transfers@stake.com.au and we’ll take care of the rest.
Fees
Stake does not charge fees to transfer issuer-sponsored shares. Please check whether your current issuer charges outgoing fees or imposes any restrictions on the portfolio transfer request.
How long does it take?
Once you submit your documents via email, our operations team handles the transfer process. On average, your issuer-sponsored shares should reach your Stake HIN within 1 business day after confirmation of completion.
We’ll be in touch if there are issues with your transfer or if further information is required to complete this.
How can I edit my average buy price?
We have created an easy process for you to amend your cost basis for your ASX holdings.
Click on to the share detail page of the stock you wish to edit:
- On the company page, scroll down to average buy price
- Click the edit icon next to the numerical value e.g. $0.00
- Edit the average buy price per share with numerical values
- Select update to reflect the changes
Things to consider
You should retain any statements, dividend statements, trade confirmations, contract notes and bank account statements for your records.
As with all investments, due to the complexities involved with tax, we recommend you obtain independent & professional advice that considers your own set of facts and circumstances. The reporting available on Stake is not intended to replace any document that contains information that may be required for taxation purposes.
You are responsible for the calculation and accuracy of this information, including any tax consequences and changes to other records incorporating the average buy price.
