About VOO

Vanguard 500 Index Fund (the Fund) is an open-end investment company, or mutual fund. The Fund offers four classes of shares: Investor Shares, Admiral Shares, Signal Shares, and Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) Shares. The Fund seeks to track the investment performance of the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index, an unmanaged benchmark representing the United States large-capitalization stocks. The Fund employs a passive management-or indexing-investment approach designed to track the performance of the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index. The Fund attempts to replicate the target index by investing all, or substantially all, of its assets in the stocks that make up the index, holding each stock in approximately the same proportion as its weighting in the index.

What is VOO ETF?

VOO is an indicator of how America's largest companies are doing. Also known as Vanguard S&P 500 ETF, this is an exchange traded fund (ETF) that tracks the performance of the Standard & Poor's 500 Index (S&P 500).

The S&P 500 index is made of 500 large-cap U.S companies and 80% of all U.S. equities by market cap. The companies within the index are from every U.S. market sector.

For many, VOO is an attractive investment because of its highly diversified nature.

Which stocks are in the VOO ETF?

Some of VOO ETF’s top holdings include Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (AMZN), Alphabet (GOOGL), Tesla (TSLA), Meta Platforms (META), Bank of America (BAC), Mastercard (MA), Chevron (CVX), Walt Disney (DIS), JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM), Costco (COST) and McDonald’s (MCD).
